ICC WOMEN’S WORLD CUP 2017 –
England have some issue with batting lineup, Women’s World Cup against India with opener Lauren Winfield being ruled out of the clash with a wrist injury. Winfield retired hurt during England’s final warm-up tie against New Zealand at Derby while batting on 27.
Having hit one century and two half-centuries in her last ten ODI innings, Winfield had established herself as one of the vital cogs at the top of the order for England, heading into the mega event.
With the medical staff set to assess her again next week, Winfield is expected to remain out of contention for her side’s second game of the tournament as well, which is against Pakistan on Tuesday at Leicester. As a precautionary measure, the 26-year-old will be using a protective cast on her hand.
