A day after Sourav Ganguly’s letter to the Committee of Administrators (CoA) arguing against the scrapping of Duleep Trophy from India’s domestic calendar, the Board for Control for Cricket in India was forced to bring back the tournament and announce the squads for the three-team tournament. India Red, India Green and India Blue will take on each other in Kanpur and Lucknow from September 7 to 29.

The tournament will be played with pink-ball and has traditionally been the curtain raiser for India’s domestic season. Abhinav Mukund will lead India Red while Parthiv Patel has been named captain for India Green. Suresh Raina, desperate to make a comeback in the national side, has been named captain of India Blue.Via
