Team News:

Williamson – captain, New Zealand: “Fantastic series. Windies are one of the top T20 sides in the world, so to come out and perform like that was amazing. Colin had an unbelievable series. Guys came after that and tried to hit the first ball for six. And then guys put their hands up to bowl against the breeze, that’s a takeaway for me from this series. It’s important that we continue doing well. We have tough challenges coming up. Our focus is on Pakistan, who are a very good side.”
Brathwaite – captain, Windies: “We didn’t execute well. Munro had a fantastic couple of months. We conceded 230 odd [sic] and lost a few early wickets. Disappointed with the performance. We had a few plans for Munro but he got past the ones we executed and some of it we didn’t execute that well. New Zealand are a very very good team and they’ve been together for a while. Credit must go to them.”
Munro – Player of the Match | Player of the Series: “Lucky to get it off the middle today. Guptill has had a long break because of injuries but to come back and play that well was amazing. I was lucky enough to get a good start and when it’s your night, it’s your night. I knew what these guys would do (with the ball); I have played them in the CPL. I had to work on my technique a bit once I started playing white-ball cricket across formats for New Zealand. Towards the end, I overhit it. It was more timing before that. You don’t have to hit too hard as long as you middle the ball. Even if it is a home game for us, it’s an away game for my family. Good to have them here. We’ve played some good cricket throughout the summer. ”

New Zealand: Trent Boult returns to the squad for the third T20I, and should be a shoo-in into the playing XI for the hosts.

Windies: The visitors are likely to stick to the same side that played on New Year’s day.
