ICC WOMEN’S WORLD CUP 2017 – Brief scores: Sri Lanka 204/8 in 50 overs (Hasini Perera 46, Shashikala Siriwardene 33; Laura Marsh 4-45, Natalie Sciver 2-32) lost to England 206/3 in 30.2 overs (Heather Knight 82, Sarah Taylor 74*; Ama Kanchana 2-38) by 7 wickets.

Ranaweera: I thought we should have focused more on fielding and bowling. Chamari was fantastic in the last game but unfortunately failed today. I think we need to prepare well for the next game against India and give our best.
Knight: Really pleased with the performance. It was a great wicket and we bowled really well to restrict Sri Lanka to 204. Sarah batted really well. The partnership with Sarah was great. Good to have Laura back and it makes the selection difficult for us as we move further. I think we have had a good run so far. We look forward to the next game.
Laura Marsh, player of the match: It’s always hard to miss out but great to get a chance today and pleased with the wickets. It’s nice to get the ball turn away from the bat and pick up those scalps. I thought Brunt and Shrubsole bowled well upfront. The team’s playing really well and the batswomen are doing their job, so we would like to continue the good work.
