Imad Wasim to play for Durham in Natwest T20 Blast

Pakistan’s Imad Wasim will join Durham for part of the Natwest T20 Blast pending him obtaining a work permit.
Wasim, who is currently still in Pakistan, will join up with the county prior to his stint in the Caribbean Premier League for defending champions Jamaica Tallawahs. The CPL begins on August 4 so it is expected that the left-arm spinner will play five or six games for Durham. Cricbuzz understands Wasim will not be heading to the UK until at least the middle of next week.
Wasim is an accurate spinner rather than being a big turner of the ball and was a key member of Pakistan’s Champions Trophy winning squad, often bowling in the opening ten overs. He is rated the number one bowler in T20 international cricket with 23 wickets at an average of 16.73 and a remarkable economy rate, conceding just 5.83 runs an over. He is also a useful middle-order batsman.
