“I think if you look at the last couple of years, I feel from the two years before that, we have shown some improvement and we have looked to go in the right direction but it’s not been enough,” Dravid said.
“When you look at our batsman, yes they are all very talented and yes they are probably less experienced than some other people but you got to see it in a different context, in a larger context,” he said.
“That’s the nature of the tournament as well, sometimes when you are on a roll, when you are playing well, you can’t afford to relax. You got to keep going because it’s tough, if you get into a slump and if you have a few bad games, it’s hard tournament for a batsman, you have to keep playing your shots you got to keep scoring, there are a lot of times, we have been chasing 180-200 on this ground. We chased 190 so we have always been chasing high scores at times and sometimes you got to keep playing shots and that’s not easy when you are not in that form and not in a run. So if you are in good form you need to cash in and make it count,” he added.
