Bangladesh women’s team manager Nazmul Abedin lauded the side for their phenomenal Asia Cup T20 final victory over India, and put the positive result down to a ‘change in mindset’.
“You can say our mindset has changed,” Abedin said. “Earlier it was like scoring few runs or picking up wickets here and there but now we are playing with the ambition of winning,” he said. “We can win sometimes and lose on few occasions but I am sure this mindset will help us in the long run,” he said.
“You just saw the result in South Africa but losing does not imply we played badly,” Nazmul said. “I think we began to start believing in our own ability during the Twenty20 series against South Africa,” he said. “We started to recognize our specific roles in the team during that series and now that we had got a reasonable amount of understanding we have started to flourish,” he added.
